Poem in the Style of Ozymandias

By Abby F., Age 10

A flourishing civilization,

once thought was eternal.

That mighty nation,

eventually crumbled.

Buried, covered, ruined,

the Indus Civilization fell,

Later found and excavated

the Harrapa and Mohenjo Daro remain well.

Eradicated by the forces of the divine,

It was one of the early three

Egypt, Mesopotamia, and the Indus were all quite fine

But alas, that is how it came to be.

And now,

For the moral,

Of this great tale,

Eternity is not real,

Immortality will fail,

Nothing lasts forever,

My dear reader,

Take this into heart,

and cherish your time

For you will miss,

the art of life

Fill your life with bliss

Let there be peace and not strife.
