Poem

By Joyce L., Age 10

A field of golden dandelions once stood before me, now the fiery flame swept out all of the gold. All the water submerged the petals; so delicate as feathers. I stared at the blazing horizon, the smoky air covered everything in thin dust.

I ventured down the golden dust, until to find a sea of blue. I looked at it, as it was waving to me saying, “Come on come on, come play with me.” I jumped into the refreshing water, and I sailed on it for miles. I reached a land called “Nighting Gale Wood Town”

I met some strange creatures with eight heads and fifteen feet called a Cracking Christmas Tree. Dangerous as it looked, so nice it could be. I groomed and groomed it until its fur looked like a piece of velvet, shining in the sun. I stared at the sun wondering if it would hurt my eyes as directly I stared. I looked everywhere and I jumped in the cerulean mass.
