The Trumpeter Taken Prisoner

By Madison B., Grade 3

In the middle of a great battle, a trumpeter was held captive. The soldiers that bound him were scary so he pleaded for pardon. He told the knight that he had nothing to fight with, so he couldn’t attack them. He hoped the knights would understand that he could only play his instrument. He asked them not to hurt him. His rivals said that even though he couldn’t fight, his instrument inspired him and his men to battle fearlessly. Instruments can encourage people.
