Writing Instructor (IEW and/or LTW)
We are seeking a passionate educator to assist in our mission of cultivating excellent writers. All of our classes are held online via Zoom, so this is a remote position. We provide fully-developed, proven digital teaching materials and handle all marketing, billing, and scheduling, so you can focus on what you do best: teach! Our ideal candidate is enthusiastic with students, comfortable with technology, and well-versed in the Structure and Style methodology created by the Institute for Excellence in Writing and/or the Lost Tools of Writing curriculum created by the CiRCE Institute.
ELA Specialist
We are seeking a passionate “jack-of-all-trades” English educator to assist in our mission of cultivating excellent writers. All of our classes are held online via Zoom, so this is a remote position. Our ideal candidate is knowledgeable about standardized tests and private school applications, familiar with traditional school ELA curricula, open to designing targeted lessons, and comfortable with technology. We handle all marketing, billing, and scheduling, so you can focus on what you do best: teach!
About Rose Writing Center
At Rose Writing Center we deliver a comprehensive writing education to students grades 3-12. Our mission is to cultivate excellent writers. We strive to provide a framework for instruction that enables teachers to concentrate their full attention on helping students to achieve their writing potential. We are committed to creating an excellent experience for parents and children alike.
In 2013, Ms. Lauren Bridgeford graduated with a BA in Languages, Literature, and Criticism from Hunter College. She has also obtained her DELTA (Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certification from Cambridge University. Currently, Ms. Bridgeford is a Registered Instructor accredited by the Institute for Excellence in Writing, and she is pursuing her master’s degree in Secondary Education.
Deanna Heikkinen has been privately teaching writing as well as history, literature, and art history to students grades 2-12 for over six years. Prior to that, she was a tenured professor of humanities at Los Angeles Valley College with a focus on teaching the Great Books of Western Civilization. Additionally, she taught world history, western civilization, Native American history, and anthropology at the college level. Whether teaching elementary, middle, or high schoolers for Rose Writing Center, Deanna's diverse background allows her to serve as our test prep, academic support, and custom lesson specialist.
